This isn't exactly new news, but it's good news for Mets fans:
Josh Lewin will be introduced soon as the Mets’ new radio announcer on WFAN, replacing Wayne Hagin, who had a four-year run as Howie Rose’s partner.
Lewin was great with Tom Grieve in Texas, but something tells me that New York's really going to like him. And vice versa. Not easy to find a good bagel in the Metroplex.

Let me take this opportunity
to give a big middle finger to WOFX 980 AM in Troy, NY who are switching to carrying Red Sox games instead of Mets games.
Now the only full-power transmitter carrying Mets games is 170 miles away and can’t be received in our state capital.

I hope he’s learned how to pronounce Johan Santana by now. He’ll be saying it a lot

What's the deal with...
For his first broadcast, what’s the over/under on how long before Lewin references:
-Seinfield
-his band
-a player’s nickname that HE makes up
-a random observation that connects two things that are not generally thought of in a single conversation
-making an observation in which he is hoping for approval from his broadcast partner, but in which only an awkward pause follows?
Whatever it is, I’m taking the “under.”
At least he’s on the radio. Fans won’t be distracted during the pregrame booth intro while his head swivels like a deranged bobble head as he listens to his partner talk.
