This sort of ad was usually found in the back pages of comic books, but in 1970 it made its way onto a Topps baseball card wrapper. These sorts of products were notoriously disappointing and have been ripe for retroactive parody and revisionism.

When I was a kid,
I had a toy car that was designed to fall apart when it hit a wall. You’d put it together, crank it up, run it into a wall and about seven pieces would fly off. Then you’d do it again.
Even for a kid, that was entertaining only for about five minutes.
This reminded me of that, is all.
