What's better than old-timey base-ball guides? How about a Negro Leagues database?
We are creating the first comprehensive statistical encyclopedia of the great black baseball teams and leagues that operated behind the color line in the days of Jim Crow segregation. The database also collects a vast amount of biographical information about these players, much of it previously unpublished.
I'm starting to like this whole internet thing.

Will be cool
Problem is… with the way barnstorming and exhibition games worked in the Negro Leagues, the level of competition was inconsistent, and these numbers can’t be interpreted like MLB stats. News coverage of the games was spotty, and a lot of the history exists in word of mouth accounts, “legends,” stories from old men, etc.
