SB Nation World Series 2011: Cardinals vs. Rangers

2011 World Series Schedule: Cardinals, Rangers Begin In St. Louis Wednesday

Oct 17, 2011 - The 2011 World Series schedule is out, and you can find the whole thing below. However, before we get to the details, we should say a few things.

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers! The Rangers won the AL West, then knocked out the Tampa Bay Rays and the Detroit Tigers in order to advance to the championship. The Rangers were division favorites from the beginning, but few expected them to make it to their second Fall Classic in a row, what with the whole Boston and New York being really good thing.

And, congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals! The Cardinals somewhat improbably won the NL Wild Card, then knocked out the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers in order to advance to the championship. The Cardinals were supposed to be dead when Adam Wainwright got injured before the year, and then they were supposed to be dead a bunch of other times, but they never died, and will now fight for the title.

Because the National League won the All-Star Game - primarily because Prince Fielder blasted a three-run homer off C.J. Wilson - the Cardinals will have home-field advantage in the 2-3-2 setup. The schedule:
